New Folio 1.0 for Mac

Every file on your Mac.
Finally findable.

Folio is the fast, private file finder Finder should have been. Search like you talk, see everything sorted by kind, and clear out gigabytes of clutter in a click.

Pay once, no subscription · macOS 14 Sonoma or later · Apple silicon and Intel

Folio’s Home screen: a library of Images, Videos, Music, Documents, Archives and Apps with thumbnails and counts, and Clean Up cards showing 1.24 GB that can be freed.

Everything Finder makes hard,
made simple.

Search like you talk.

Type “pdfs from last week” or “screenshots over 5 MB” and Folio gets it. It reads inside PDFs too, so “invoice” finds the invoice.

Your files, sorted for you.

Images, videos, music, documents, archives and apps, each with real thumbnails and counts. No folder digging required.

Every folder, one window.

Home, Desktop, Documents, Downloads, Applications and iCloud Drive in grid, list or columns, with a path bar you can actually click.

Free up gigabytes. Undo anytime.

Old downloads, forgotten installers, stale screenshots and exact duplicates, totaled up. You choose what goes, and it goes to the Trash first.

Remember where it came from.

Downloads grouped by source: Gmail, ChatGPT, Slack, Google Drive, GitHub. Folio reads the “Where from” info macOS already saves.

⇧⌘Space, from any app.

A Spotlight-style glass panel just for your files. Open it, reveal it in Folio or show it in Finder without leaving what you’re doing.

See Folio in 30 seconds.

Don’t take our word for it.
Take it for a spin.

This is a working demo of Folio with a sample library. Search, browse folders, clean up, press ⇧⌘Space. No download needed.

Try it: search , open , or press ⇧⌘Space.

Questions, answered.

Is there a free trial?

No trial. Instead, try the live demo on this page: it runs the same views, search and cleanup as the app. If Folio isn’t right for you, email us within 14 days for a refund.

Does Folio upload my files anywhere?

No. Folio indexes and searches on your Mac. It only goes online to activate or check your license with Dodo Payments and to look for app updates. No account, no analytics.

Which Macs does it run on?

Any Mac with macOS 14 Sonoma or later, on Apple silicon or Intel. Folio is a native Mac app, signed and notarized by Apple.

Can I move my license to a new Mac?

Yes. Open Folio › Settings › License and choose Deactivate & Transfer, then paste the key on the new Mac. Buy the 3‑ or 5‑Mac license to use Folio on several Macs at once.

Will it delete anything on its own?

Never. Clean Up shows you what’s taking space, you pick what goes, and it all goes to the Trash so you can put it back.

Does it replace Finder?

It works alongside Finder. Folio adds the things Finder doesn’t do well: plain‑English search, a library sorted by kind, where each download came from, and cleanup. Show in Finder is always one click away.

Do I get updates?

Yes. Folio checks for updates and installs them for you. Every 1.x update is included with your license.

Find it. Clean it. Done.
